I’m still hammering away on my new novel, but I took a break from it over the weekend and drew a picture of myself drinking coffee with my favorite musician, Jack White. This image popped into my mind the other night at work and I had to sit down and draw it. I hope you’re doing well. Have a nice weekend. I’ll write more later.
This is brilliant Matthew – I love it!!!!! What a break! π
Happy weekend, my friend!
Thank you Marina! I hope you have a good weekend too! π
This is such a great photo! Thanks for sharing it with us…me π I’m sure this photo has some meaning behind it. I do wonder what that spring-box thing is doing in the photo, haha. It looks cute and gives the photo a fun feeling to it.
Crayola… *sniff* Had great times haphazardly drawing with those coloured pencils as a kid. Great memories.
Thank you Mabel. π I keep my pencil sharpener in the box. It’s an old Altoids can. It’s like an old friend. It’s been with me for years. I sharpen my pencils over it and let the shavings fall inside.
I can see the pencil sharpener in the corner! The old school kind, I used to have tons of those. Those tin cans reminds me of the metal pencil-boxes I took to school. But I always threw the shavings in the rubbish bin π
I probably need to invest in an electric one.
I never had one of those electric sharpeners. I actually find it fun sharpening pencils by hand, especially using those sharpeners with a handle.
I know what you mean. There’s something satisfying about doing it that way. π I’m sorry about your encounter at the mall. Yikes.
When I was a kid and felt bored, I sharpened all my coloured pencils using the handle sharpeners to pass the time. I loved seeing the fuzzy and shredded pieces of wood fall into the sharpener container π
Me too! π
Another JW is Jack Whyte whose books I read diligently – historical fiction researched with the most possible comprehensiveness possible.
Really? I will have to look him up. I hope you’re doing well!
What a great drawing!
Thank you Jess! I love your work too!
Great job, Matthew! Weird creatures, but great job!! Love YOU!!!
Thanks! Love you too!
I love surrealist stuff, I think this is my favourite of your drawings so far.
Thank you! I plan on doing more like this! π
Love this – Matthew Curry meets Jack White meets Kafka’s Metamorphosis. I’m finally back at work on my next book, too, taking a little break to catch up on your posts!
Thank you Liz! How have you been?
Outstanding work, Matt! I love it!
Good luck with your book writing too! xx
Love this! π
Thank you Sarah! π
I am laughing, since I do recognize you and Jack White, but unsure of why you are bugs? I love that your table is a record, Matthew! Smiles!
Hey Reo. π It just seemed like a good idea at the time.
